Happy May Jugglers! Have Fun Juggling Flowers!

by Monica
May 10th, 2012

I received the most wonder letter and a reference letter. So instead of my usual bad grammar, you can read what someone else is saying about Juggle Whatever. Now I just have to figure out how to add a document to this post. I had the honor of teaching around 35 kids for 12 weeks some fun juggling skills. The same juggling skills  I teach in my workshops. I was able to spread the lessons out and let the kids develop as jugglers. So much fun and I am so proud of them all.

April the Month of the Fool!

by Monica
April 9th, 2012

Juggle Whatever is almost booked full for the summer. (Please call to check dates for your event, I will find room!) Some days I have 3 events scheduled. So much fun! I think the Glow Juggling Program is going to be a hit for the summer reading program at the libraries. I let the kids play with all my new glow stuff at the OKC Council of the Arts After School Program at the Midwest YMCA in Choctaw school. It is a class I have been given the greatest gift of teaching for a 12-week period. Wow are we having fun. It is so cool to watch all the kids progress and have time to get to know them all. Happily after school programs and preschools are getting into the juggling spirit. I am also developing a program for bulling in the next few months. Let me know if you have any suggestions for such a subject. Things are just picking up day by day.

Even with all the new business I still have moments of fear and the “boo” voice in my head telling me that this will never be as big as I think it could be. The “boo” voice makes an experience at least once a day. To me the “boo” voice could be a used in fear and I could run away but I have finally learned how to appreciate the “boo” voice as a caution and then respectfully ignore it.  I know all about fear and it’s little mind killing influence. I will not let it dictate my decisions. It is a work of life progress keeping that “boo” fear voice in my head to a small whisper. I have a feeling we all have that little voice in our heads, my advice, try to give it a little time each day but then put it back into it’s cell and get on with the fun in life.

Happy April Fools Day Month! (One Day is just to short) April is my favorite month. Time to play some jokes on my friends and family. Once I convinced my dad that I had won the lottery and had driven in my new sports car from California to his door in Oklahoma City and he needed to come downstairs and give me a hug…APRIL FOOLS!!! I have to admit that if anything really bad happened on April Fools in my family the police, hospital or friend would have a very tough time convincing us until April 2nd.  My standard “trick” is a sponge cake with chocolate frosting. Real sponges covered in frosting. We used it to get customers at the Norman Medieval Renaissance Fair. We would challenge people to show us they can juggle and they would get a free piece of cake! So much fun watching them try to saw through the cake reward. I felt a little bad about the pregnant lady. LOL but we gave everyone cookies for a consolation prize. Fun stuff! Juggling really teaches me that as an adult it is so healthy to laugh, learn and love life everyday to the fullest!

March Madness

by Monica
March 15th, 2012

Taking time away from juggling. Spring Break and March Madness. Kinda sounds like the month to take a break from it all. Or at least a few hours a day. I believe that taking a fun break even business is so very important. I have juggling for the fun of it, my favorite tv shows like Psych and then I just play with my cats. They love to chase string and nothing else. They are weird but cute and cuddly. They are asleep right now so I thought I would take a break and post this. Seems like life can get so busy you feel like a day went by and you were either working for money or working for family and friends. (I include pets into family) Sometimes I am so tired at night I just want to sit because it is to hard to go to bed.

But I make sure everyday to take a 5 to 30 minute fun break. Sometimes just pulling string for my cuties to chase. Sometimes I see a new juggling pattern I want to learn. I look at my schedule and sometimes I schedule in the time just to remind myself how important those few minutes can be for my sanity. I also have realized when I don’t take these fun breaks my worries and fears seem to get more of a foothold in my mind. I don’t even know why that is true but it seems to work that way. So for today, instead of writing more about it, I am going to do a little cigar box juggling right now. Then on with the show!
